Reserves action heads to Golborne Parkside this weekend as Leeds Rhinos take on Leigh Leopards this Saturday, kick off 12pm.

A tough start to 2026 sees the Rhinos head into their third fixture of the new campaign without a win, having drawn with Wakefield 18-all in a close affair at Stanningley before Wigan pulled off a convincing 20-6 result a fortnight ago. It is the first time since the Reserves grade returned in 2022 that Leeds have been winless after two games, but a clash with the Leopards gives Chev Walker's side a chance to pick up their first win, as this fixture has proved fruitful in recent years.

Clashes against Leigh have produced wins for the Reserves down the years, starting in 2023 when Leeds produced a 48-0 result. Despite losing out 34-24 in the opening game of the 2024 season, the Rhinos retaliated 12 months later when two tries from Marcus Qareqare secured a 30-22 result. A similar result on Saturday would kickstart the Rhinos' season ahead of games against Warrington and Bradford coming up.

Like the Rhinos, Leigh are still looking for their first win of the new season too after suffering defeats at the hands of St Helens and Wakefield Trinity.

Opening the season on the road against Saints, ten tries by the Red Vee saw them overcome a Leopards side containing AJ Towse, Ben McNamara and Will Brough 54-16. Back on home soil a week later, Wakefield dominated Leigh in a 72-0 final score at Golborne Parkside - a result the Leopards will want to avenge on Saturday.

The visit of Leeds this weekend comes ahead of two away trips as Leigh head to London and Warrington in their next three games. April is then rounded off with home clashes against Huddersfield and Hull KR.
